Plagiarism Policy
At Life Sciences and Environmental Research Journal (LSERJ), we are committed to maintaining the highest standards of integrity in the publication process. To ensure the originality and credibility of all submitted works, LSERJ follows a strict Plagiarism Policy.
We use advanced plagiarism detection tools to screen all submitted manuscripts for any signs of plagiarism or improper citation. All articles submitted to the journal are subject to a comprehensive plagiarism check before being sent for peer review. We use trusted software that compares the submitted manuscript against a vast database of previously published content to identify any overlap, whether it is intentional or unintentional.
Definition of Plagiarism:
Plagiarism includes, but is not limited to:
- Copying another author’s work without proper citation.
- Paraphrasing another person’s ideas or findings without acknowledgment.
- Using figures, tables, or data from other sources without appropriate permission or credit.
- Self-plagiarism, which includes reusing previously published work without proper citation or permission.
Policy Enforcement:
If any instances of plagiarism or inappropriate use of sources are detected during the submission process, the manuscript will be immediately rejected. In cases where plagiarism is discovered after publication, the article will be retracted, and the author(s) will be notified. Depending on the severity, the author may also be prohibited from submitting to LSERJ in the future.
Consequences for Authors:
- Minor Plagiarism: If a small part of the manuscript is found to be plagiarized (e.g., a few sentences or data points), authors will be asked to revise the manuscript and properly cite the original source. If the revisions are satisfactory, the article may proceed to peer review.
- Major Plagiarism: If substantial sections of the manuscript are plagiarized (e.g., entire paragraphs, significant ideas, or large parts of data), the manuscript will be rejected, and the author may face a ban from submitting to LSERJ in the future.
- Repeated Offenses: Authors who repeatedly submit plagiarized work may be banned from submitting to the journal indefinitely.
Preventative Measures:
LSERJ encourages authors to thoroughly check their work for plagiarism before submission. We provide guidelines on proper citation practices and offer support for authors who are unsure about how to correctly attribute sources. Authors should aim to create original work, appropriately reference other studies, and ensure that all sources used are clearly credited.
By upholding this Plagiarism Policy, LSERJ strives to maintain the integrity of the academic record, ensuring that published research is authentic, transparent, and respectful of the intellectual property of others.
